CHRONICLE POLICIES
Privacy policy
What Chronicle Trading handles online, what stays on your computer, and what you can request.
Who operates this service
Chronicle Trading Journal is operated by Klyde Russell Macarate Dinsay, an individual based in the Philippines, under the public name Chronicle Trading. For account or privacy questions, email support@chronicletrading.com.
Account and device information
We process the username, email address, password credential, email-verification state, account sessions, authorized desktop devices, plan status, and signup Terms acceptance needed to operate and protect accounts. Session records may include an IP address and browser user agent. Device records include a device label and last-seen time. Administrators can review account status and device activity to investigate support, billing, or suspected account-sharing and security problems.
Payments and messages
Creem is our default checkout provider and merchant of record. PayPal may be available as an alternative payment provider. Chronicle Trading receives subscription status, payment identifiers, amounts, dates, and related events to grant access, reconcile payments, handle disputes, and send receipts. We do not ask you to enter your full card number on Chronicle Trading. We use Resend to deliver account-verification, password-reset, account, and payment emails. We do not currently send marketing email through this account service.
Local journal and optional AI requests
During normal desktop use, journal entries, notes, charts, and screenshots are stored on your computer. They are not automatically uploaded to your online account. When you choose a Chronicle Pro AI analysis, the app sends relevant journal text and any selected chart images or backtest OHLC evidence through Chronicle's server to OpenAI to produce the requested response. Merely saving a chart does not send it for AI analysis. The online account records AI request and Chronicle Credit usage. Completed AI responses are temporarily stored on Chronicle’s server for up to 24 hours to let the app retrieve a result after an interruption, then removed by scheduled cleanup. This is temporary recovery storage, not a cloud journal. Provider retention is governed separately by the provider’s policies. Keep private information out of AI requests if you do not want it sent to the provider.
Service providers and protection
Cloudflare hosts the account service and database; Creem handles billing as merchant of record; PayPal is available as an alternative; Resend delivers transactional emails; and OpenAI processes requested AI analysis. Data supplied to these providers is limited to the relevant service operation. We use account sessions and desktop-device authorization to control access, but no internet service can promise absolute security.
Advertising measurement
If you accept advertising cookies, Chronicle shares site visits, installer clicks, signup and subscription milestones, and confirmed payment amounts and currencies with Meta to measure ads. We use browser and ad-click identifiers for attribution and keep them for up to 180 days. Use Cookie settings to withdraw and stop future sharing associated with that browser.
Your choices and account deletion
You can review or revoke sessions and desktop devices in your account dashboard and contact us about access, correction, or privacy concerns. You can request deletion of your online account there after verifying your email. We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days. First cancel any recurring subscription in your account or through your payment provider: a deletion request does not itself stop billing. An administrator checks the live subscription status before deleting the online account. If billing verification, an unresolved matter, or a legal obligation delays the request, we will explain the reason and next steps. Deletion does not erase journal files on your computer.
Data retention
Different records have different retention periods. Scheduled cleanup normally runs daily; records due for removal are deleted on the following cleanup pass.
- Local journals, screenshots, and saved AI conversations: remain on your computer until you delete them. Cancelling a subscription does not delete those files.
- Online account, profile, and authorized devices: retained while your account exists, including continued Free use after cancellation, and removed when account deletion is completed.
- Inactive online accounts: after 24 months without recorded authenticated online activity, eligible accounts receive email warnings 90, 60, and 30 days before deletion. Signing in or authenticated desktop use cancels scheduled deletion. Offline use cannot be recorded; local journal files remain on your device. Accounts with billing history, access overrides, unresolved local support or billing cases, or preservation holds are excluded from automatic inactivity deletion. Existing accounts receive a fresh inactivity clock when this system is introduced. If a warning is delayed, the deletion deadline is extended.
- Expired verification codes and expired or revoked login credentials: removed on the next daily cleanup, normally within 24 hours of expiry or revocation.
- Completed AI response recovery copies: removed after 24 hours. Detailed request, credit, token, and cost records are retained for 12 months after completion. Minimal request identifiers and verification hashes remain while your account exists to prevent duplicate charges and support follow-ups to saved analyses; they do not contain journal text or chart images.
- Routine diagnostic records stored by Chronicle and raw billing-event payloads: retained for up to 90 days. Minimal successful billing-event identifiers are retained for five years to prevent duplicate processing. Unresolved billing failures remain available until reconciled.
- Administrator activity records: retained for 12 months after the action.
- Support reply copies stored by Chronicle: retained while a conversation is open and for 24 months after it is marked resolved. Further correspondence reopens the conversation. Mail stored by Resend is subject to its separate retention practices.
- Account-deletion evidence: the account identifier, email, deletion date, administrator, and deletion reason are retained for 24 months after deletion. Financial records are stored separately.
- Required accounting and payment evidence: retained for the applicable five-year Philippine accounting period, calculated from the day following the relevant tax-return filing deadline, or the actual filing date if filed late. We confirm filing dates before removing these records. Minimal subscription and payment references still needed to deliver active paid access remain for that purpose.
Relevant records may be retained longer for an identified dispute, investigation, unresolved filing obligation, or legal requirement. Preservation is limited to the records needed for that matter, reviewed at least every 90 days, and released when no longer necessary.
Backups and provider copies
Deleted data may remain in Cloudflare D1 recovery history for its rolling recovery window, up to 30 days depending on the service plan. These copies are used for recovery rather than normal account access. If we restore a database, we reapply completed deletions and expired retention deadlines before reopening the service. Creem, PayPal, Resend, and OpenAI may retain their own copies under their policies and obligations; Chronicle's retention periods do not promise deletion of those independent copies.
For access, correction, or deletion of retained personal information, email support@chronicletrading.com. We will explain any recordkeeping obligation or unresolved matter that prevents deletion. Last updated October 13, 2026.
